Kentucky Proud® brand licensing gives eligible businesses an opportunity to use the Kentucky Proud® brand on approved intellectual property. Think apparel, drinkware, home goods, accessories, décor, promotional items, you name it! The program creates new ways for the Kentucky Proud® brand to connect with consumers all across the state, and nation, if you’re feeling extra ambitious. Because the Kentucky Proud® name and logo represent Kentucky agriculture and businesses across the Commonwealth, merchandise is reviewed individually to help protect the integrity, recognition and reputation of the brand. Kentucky Proud® approval is required before licensed merchandise may be manufactured, advertised or sold.

Kentucky Proud® Members
Kentucky Proud members have long had the ability to use the Kentucky Proud logo. Now, for the first time, they can take it beyond their products and into merchandise. Members may now apply for merchandise licensing at a discounted 5% royalty rate on gross sales revenue from approved licensed merchandise.
Commercial Vendors
Commercial vendors may apply for merchandise licensing at a 15% royalty rate on gross sales revenue generated from approved licensed merchandise.
All applicants must meet program requirements and enter into a Kentucky Proud® Merchandise Logo Licensure Agreement before using Kentucky Proud® intellectual property on merchandise.
01 — Apply
Complete the Kentucky Proud® Merchandise Logo License Application and provide the requested business information.
02 — Tell Us About Your Product
Submit a separate product addendum for each proposed merchandise item. You'll provide information about the product, materials, manufacturing location, pricing, estimated sales, launch plans and sales channels.
03 — Submit Your Artwork
Provide a product mockup, digital artwork proof and packaging proof when applicable. Identify which approved Kentucky Proud® logo variation you plan to use and disclose any additional logos, slogans or trademarks that will appear on the product.
04 — Kentucky Proud® Reviews It
Each merchandise item is reviewed individually for compliance with Kentucky Proud® brand standards and program requirements. Approval of one product does not automatically approve another product or future modification.
05 — Receive Written Approval
Final proofs must receive written approval from Kentucky Proud® before the product is manufactured, advertised or sold using Kentucky Proud® intellectual property.
06 — Make It Kentucky Proud®
Once your licensing agreement is fully executed and your product has received approval, you can move forward with your licensed merchandise according to the terms of your agreement—including applicable royalty and reporting requirements.
