Kentucky Proud Connection staff report
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Joseph-Beth bookstore in Lexington is carrying Kentucky Proud products in a special section reserved for locally produced foods.
"This partnership between Joseph-Beth and Kentucky Proud benefits their customers as well as Kentucky's hard-working farm families," Agriculture Commissioner James Comer said. "We're excited to work with such a popular and well-respected local business."
"Joseph-Beth and Kentucky Proud are a good match, and we're happy to be able to represent the initiative," said Brooke Raby, marketing manager at Joseph-Beth Booksellers at The Mall at Lexington Green, 161 Lexington Green Circle.
"It's a nice section; as you walk in the main entrance, they have a little table set up with local products leading to it," said Ben Shaffar, director of business development for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. "They were selling the products as local, but we got them some signage to raise visibility and awareness that the products are Kentucky Proud."
Shaffar said the products on the shelves at Joseph-Beth include Weisenberger Mill flours, cornmeal, grits and mixes; Uncle Kenny's Bourbon Cookies; Spring Valley Farms Maple Syrup; and assorted salsas and sauces.
